These instructions bring you to us "from the north" on Highway 88. We come this way when we're trying to avoid weekend biker traffic on the river, or when we're tired. The drive is easier, a bit less scenic and takes precisely the same amount of time from the Twin Cities. This route is recommended if you are coming from the north or east.

Get yourself to Mondovi, WI on US Highway 10 via your favorite route. Here's our "easy ride" route from the Twin Cities;

a. Take I-94 east to the River Falls (WI 35) exit
b. Take WI 35 south toward River Falls
c. Continue straight towards Ellsworth when the road transmogrifies into WI 65 South (note, WI 35 turns off and goes through downtown River Falls – not where you want to go)
d. Take US 10 east (a left) at Ellsworth to Mondovi

At Mondovi, take WI 37 south

Turn left on County Road B toward Gilmanton (about 7.5 miles)

Turn right on Sand Road (about 1.3 miles – watch out, the sign is bent)

Go straight ahead on WI 88 at the stop sign (about .5 miles)

Go 5 miles on WI 88

When you get to County Road U, continue on Highway 88 but start counting driveways, you're almost there. Ours is the 3^rd driveway on the right (about a mile past U on 88).

a. The 1^st driveway is a farmhouse directly across from U
b. The 2^nd goes to a gray metal shed
c. The 3^rd is ours – it slants abruptly down the hill to the right and is just after the orange road sign warning of a 30 mph right-angle bend in the road.
d. Note - our fire number is S1287..

If you get to the little town of Praag, you've gone too far. Turn around and head back up 88 and look for our S1287 fire sign (we don't have a mailbox).
